wish me luck

just took my bike apart and put it in a dufflebag in preparation for my trip. Can't believe this is really happening. I'll be in Philadelphia by Tuesday night. See everybody when I get back.

This video is insane. Dane Searls and Jared who are in the video were at Solame when I went a few years ago and were killing it, and now they have what looked to be some of the poppiest jumps ever. Guess we should all be saving our money for a trip down under.

long semptember

So the pumptrack video below has enjoyed some real popularity. Thanks, and a big thanks to Deluxebmx for pluggin it on their website. They always have great posts and last week they did a piece on Rob Dolecki which is awesome. Dolecki takes some of the best trails photos ever, and still shoots film. check it out http://deluxebmx.com/news/. I leave for Pennsylvania really early Tuesday morning so I probably wont post for a couple weeks, while I enjoy some TTRRAILSSS, but as soon as I get back, we will be making a real video of the pumptrack project, and then diggin season will be upon us pretty soon. yes!! see you soon. Enjoy:
Jeff Kendall-Weed just moved back to the Santa Cruz Mountains and came and rode the park and took some photos the other day. It was great to see him after so long and he was shredding the little bike. Dusty got some liquid courage in him and decided to ride around without shoes (plastic pedals will give you dumb ideas). After a few of these, he got this You can see more of Jeff's work and wanderings at http://www.bicycleweed.com

mostly i just dig the song

pumptrack, sweet rides

Pumptrack preview. can't see a lot here but soon you will.
SC pumptrack 2008 from jackson allen on Vimeo. and segment clothing was nice enough to plug our pumptrack project again. Segment rules and has some great recent updates.
saw this macneil cruiser on defgrip. makes me happy just looking at it. I'd like to take this thing on a mountain bike ride and see how it faired. It reminds me of the bikes that a lot of the homeless dudes in santa cruz cobble together for collecting cans. Maybe macneil will sell after market garbage bag holders and bolt on stash spots. ZERO motorcycles, based in Scotts Valley, CA (home of the canyon trails) has been turning heads and crankshafts for a few years now. Their all electric dirtbikes are somewhere in between downhill bike and a 125. Completely silent for those stealth trail missions. If you visit there website, here, you can click on the gallery function and see some pictures that were taken in the same canyon as the trails. Those redwoods will look familiar to faithful readers and trail locals. I am dying to ride one of these bikes.
on the subject of motorcycles, I recently worked with this guy Ben for a couple days and he showed up to work on this thing one of the days. Awesome.

I have had some sweet rides of my own recently. I bought a friends bike and with a few mods rode that while I painted my frame.
Just recently I switched back too my old 3 amigos frame and I am lovin the new paint job. trail brown. This picture doesn't do my new bike justice as it has my old back wheel on it and the gross chain, but you get the idea.

oh and a limited edition sasquatch canyon helmet paint job.
