New Line
The last few days at the trails have been spent working on the upper half of the jumps. There have been a lot of things routed next to the upper line, but hopefully this new setup will be a keeper. Maybe it needs a name? The BottomLine? Lowriders? Apple Bottoms? Lowlife's? Davey Jones Locker? Lowbrows?

Hoang Over Toothpicks
Ben Lomond and the Dirt Bowl feature briefly in this bike video made in 1930. Chris San Agustin filmed a couple clips and gives Dusty a shout here. In a slightly related note the Canyon is not too into the idea of web video exclusives. In this case I understand it increases traffic to two entities interested in making money (one by monetizing 15 year old's web behavior and the other by selling exlcusively black, red or white parts and bikes) but personally I feel like the internet and even bmx have always been about the dissemination of free ideas and entertainment. Some might even contend that you are undoing some of the free publicity a web video generates by looking miserly. Or maybe it's just sour grapes because I can't embed a good video. No matter.

Coors d'oeuvres
“We think in generalities, but we live in detail”-Alfred North Whitehead
We dished the berm out a bunch, and mellowed out the roller in the middle and now it works. "Your grandma could ride this thing." Hey, its uphill.
Mike with more whip than Indiana Jones.
Mike exits and Dusty passes. Traffic on the fishhook.
Needs pool coping.
Bike wobbles.

Nice to be riding some of the new projects. Otis approved.

Chris Reisner
I'm loving these pieces Dave is doing on people. One time Chris Reisner came to Santa Cruz for a weekend and we decided to go on a skatepark tour of sorts. We went to a park that had a pretty scary 7 foot spine, and after jumping it a few times with Chris I said something about the thing being untrickable. Somehow a free lunch was laid on the line and a few runs later Chris had done a sweet invert over the thing. Looks like I still owe you that "spine lunch" my friend.
