creekcross

Every week for the last month I have made a bunch of crazed phone calls to a few people all over the country. they go something like this: "Hey (insert name) I did it!! I jumped across the creek!! well, actually there was no landing built and I had to jump off my bike but yeah its doable." Then I would call back the next week and tell them the landing was there, but the jump before would have to get bigger cause I had to jump off my bike...Well, I made my last round of calls last night. the trails officially run. Mike and I were out there working on some sasquatch carpentry for the new line, so we decided to ride a little bit. mike shredded in his work boots. I had been waiting for a while, since we pushed the jump out of the s-turn around to make it bigger and had to let it dry.
after a few attempts (and some high speed eject buttons) I jumped accross the creek and rolled away. no pictures. sorry. but soon. the jump is right around 25 feet (a little over or under depending on where you land on the landing). It could still use a little work, so that is is fun, rather than sketchy. (When Dave Reuss was told about the bailouts he asked "Jackson, are you building sketchy jumps?" the answer is...maybe)
the new line we are working on is gonna give an alternative way across the creek, so you can still have a beer and ride out there. should be fun. maybe pictures of the new line soon.
also santa cruz county has recently been diagnosed with the most awesome problem on the planet. we have too many sets of trails. i cant get out to ride all the awesome places, cant get anyone up to the canyon to ride even when i offer to buy beer, and dusty and mike cant get me outta the canyon to help them (even though they dig up there all the time). im a stubborn asshole. Hopefully The bullet and the rest of the Murdock Mountain crew will come up and ride again, this time at the canyon too.

This is someone's family crest...im so jealous. beer and trails. it is in someone's blood.

also i couldn't figure out how to post this video but i highly recommend going to fbm site then to media section ( http://fbmbmx.com/media.php ) and watch the black and white trail video. i love that song!
