Sasquatch Scan-yon Day 3

How I met Dirty Dwayne is pretty uneventful, so I will instead tell Ryan Phinn's story: Ryan was driving in town when he saw a pink Volume Dinosaur on the roof rack of a parked car. At that point seeing a BMX bike in Santa Cruz, particularly one you didn't recognize was a reason to pull over. Ryan left a note that read something like this: "Whoever you are, you must shred pretty hard to ride a bike this pink. Call me, let's ride."

Dwayne hails from Great Falls, Montana and leads a nomadic lifestyle. You can usually find him where the weather is decent, the riding is good and the partying is plentiful. Apparently that place is Salt Lake City these days, although I hope Dwayne makes his way back to Santa Cruz someday because we definitely have more going on now than we did then. Polo Grounds 2005.Having Dwayne living here was great because he was always trying to ride. Sometimes the pre-riding routine was a little lengthy (it often involved meeting Dwayne at the Avenue, where he was a bouncer, and having beers and Montana Bananas (equal parts orange juice and apple vodka)) but Dwayne made sure he got a lengthy session in everyday.

Dwayne's arm and our bikes in the Van's Skatepark parking lot. Dwayne has a zig zag man tattoo on his arm along with a GF 20" (Great Falls 20 inch) tattoo that looks like a "420".2HIP Tour. There are quite a few amazing stories from this trip (none that I really want to immortalize on the internet, so go ahead and ask me about it in person). One involves the heavy celebrating, the fact that in the midwest people's backyards aren't separated by fences and a pile of feces. We also appeared on a local radio morning show on this trip.
