Snapshot Canyon Weekend Update

Spent the majority of the sunlight hours at the trails. Stalked and captured some BigFoot(age) and fixed the trails up a bunch and even got to ride a portion of one of the newer lines. Celebrated nothing a couple of nights too. Chris Riesner should move to Santa Cruz. He insisted on blogging from the trails all weekend. Questionably awesome. Chris also shredded hard, hopefully Mike will send me some photos soon. Andrew's hand only has two settings. Grips or tall cans.Jordan has been coming to the trails to hangout which has been great.Jordan is such a badass even his cast is tough looking.Mike likes to... survey the trails.AILS IS HOUTING!

Would love to see some photos from the weekend out of focus or not! Mike is photogenic for sure, now I just have to figure out how to use a camera

Lookin good Jackson. Now that you have your own awesome camera, I think I'm going to start giving you contructive critisism. Feel free to give it back whenever. The photos are a bit soft like chris said. Maybe find a new way to focus or use a spot focus setting if your cam let's you. I also like my camera to beep at me when it's in focus. That might help. Also checking focus right after you shoot something is the beauty of digital slr's. You have a high res screen. Preview your photo and zoom in all of the way to make sure you are getting a crisp photo. Aside from that, one of the ones of mike is way underexposed. Don't know if you were tryin for that or not. Time to shoot in full manual all of the time ;-) I'm so stoked you are taking photos man. Always noticed your eye for art in photos. Time to link my blog to yours btw lol

hey luke i think these shots were with his 50mm 1.2 which is a manuel focus, so focusing on a digital focus screen really blows, i've been thinking about changing out my screen so i can shoot with my MF zeiss glass on my 5d

ps love how this is turning into a photo discussion, jackson probably hates it hahah

Ahh, my worst nightmare. I kid though, and appreciate all the advice, particularly you two dudes as I love both of your photography. I definitely appreciate the constructive stuff and I am anxious to learn. Chris is right, for the video work the 50mm is pretty sweet as it is a fast lens and the focus ring is real slow so it is often on the camera when I shoot a couple of snapshots from the hip (like these) and they often suffer from not be able to autofocus and only being able to use the aperture ring. Still haven't taken a picture I am happy with, but the video stuff is better and Dusty's edit will be done soon.
