big bikes

Tomorrow it will be 8 weeks since my injury, and I still dont feel quite right, but good enough to ride a few times a week so far. I will be celebrating this weekend with a trip to the trails, so hopefully I will see you out there. So far riding my bmx has been easiest on my shoulder (which doesn't quite make sense) and today I went for a fairly unsuccessful mountain bike ride. Otis and I started by bushwacking some old forgotten trail, choked with poison oak, over by De Laveaga Golf course. After coming to a dead end we decided we would ride something we knew, but almost immediately got a huge pointy stick stuck in my fear tire. Instant flat. So we walked back to the car. otis was still stoked on the hiking.

In more big bike news, Jacob and others have been going out to the trails to ride and take care of them a bit, and Bryce Shaw took these pictures of Jacob gettin rad on the second hip. I really like these.

On another bigbike note, i was trying to clean my camelback today so I stuck a q-tip a little ways into the hose, and it came out black, i cant believe I drink out of that thing. so now i gotta buy a wire brush or something to clean it out. I decided i would look on camelback's website. They have the brush but I got sidetracked looking at all this crazy military gear they make. Camelback really is ready for the apocalypse. "Hydrate or Die".

In little bike news, go to defgrip for some pictures of the Old School swap meet that just happended down south. Wish I had gone in person, but this is well worth the trip through cyberspace for the photos. DEFGRIP

I'll leave you with a little video of some of the most compact (yet awesome) trails I have ever seen.

Just soak your camel back hose in bleach... then you don't have to buy any of those silly things from camel back.
