gorge rd trails-open day-20" edit from trubmx on Vimeo.

I guess this place just opened. I think a park like this should be our next five year project. Looks dialed.

ENDOR

I think I already posted a bunch of stuff about Endor (and maybe even this picture) but hiking around Henry Cowell today reminded me of this. And I just saw this amazing photo on LIFE?. Such a good shot (as are all the TBVO ones) but check out that crazy Colorado themed quarter!! Where is that thing?

FUNSPOT call to Arms and 300 Posts!

Well, actually this is the 305th post. For a summer when I said I wouldn't be posting much, I have actually posted more than ever. Polluting the internet with useless information has never been more fun.
The Funspot is ridiculously close to being done. A HUGE and skilled turnout on Saturday MIGHT, and I stress MIGHT mean that the park could open as early as Sunday. But don't bother showing up for Sunday unless you come help out on Saturday. Bring drills/cordless drivers, extra batteries, sunscreen, beverages and some elbow grease. Let's get this place finished. Then we can do this soon!

Verde

This is quite the team, and there is a ton of great Yeagle and Ryan Barrett footage in this edit

Public Speaking

Sometimes I wonder why people smirk when I tell them I live in Santa Cruz. Apparently this is why.Seen on the HuffingtonPost. To be fair (to these next speakers, not that lady) speaking in front of people (particularly our city council) can be nerve wracking and can lead to verbal diarrhea, but it doesn't mean it isn't entertaining. This compilation is okay, but really picks up around 2 minutes in.

POW VIDEO FOR SALE

The POW video came out recently and it was worth the wait. I am not just saying this because some Central Coasters have some clips, but it really is one of my favorite videos yet. Almost all trails, full parts from Abe "Abe likes to Party!" Rowland, Marcus O'Brien, Jeremy Kaiser, Travis Kizer, and Aaron Day plus tons of footage from all over the Northwest and CA. A non stop name-taking-ass-kicking soundtrack backs the awesome trail/party footage. So worth the money. Marcus just posted info on his site about how to get a hold of the video, but here it is in case you are in a hurry: "Video Premiere went off pretty well lots of people showed up for it. If your interested in buying a video you can just pay through paypal. Just send me $15 through paypal to cwoodtrails@yahoo.com thats the name you will use so you can pay me. If you don't have your address on there just send it to my email, which is the same cwoodtrails@yahoo.com. The $15 is for the video and shipping. If you have any problems just email me. I will have a paypal set up on the site soon, so if you want to wait you can." ACT NOW, THERE AREN'T THAT MANY COPIES!

Ron DuHamel

My uncle, Ron DuHamel, has recently returned to one of his original loves, painting and has a new website to showcase his life's work. Ron's paintings are big (bordering on huge) and his approach is as bold as the landscapes he concentrates on. This is one of his older pieces, but one of my favorites. Growing up in California I have always felt that Poison Oak, with its glowingly beautiful but different seasonal identities, "look but don't touch" danger and aggressive growth patterns was the perfect "state plant" rather than the poppy (no offense to the great flower). I have had more than my fair share of poison oak in my time spent in the woods and if I could have a superpower, poison oak immunity would be my first choice, but I am not sure I would ever want to eradicate it.

Dust in the Wind

Devin Schmitt took some amazing shots of Dusty over the last few weeks.

Although the video I wanted to post is this one.

Worlds Collide

Saw this (along with an awesome still picture sequence shot of this collision) here. Did the canyon just get significantly lamer for reposting fixed gear stuff? You make the call, fascist.

Liquid Dirt

Jeremy from Liquid Dirt just put up this new edit from the new spot where he has been digging.41 seconds of bliss.

Michael Monday...on a monday

And this one was a really quick turnaround. I barely have had time to shower since this session happened. That either makes this video really fresh, or me really stinky. Or both.

Pretty Greoux

Pretty Shady has a cool retrospective on the Greoux trails in France (think Trail People Jam spot). I guess the jumps are gone these days, but I think a lot of us saw pictures of that place and wondered how they made such beautiful angles and lines. In other news, I bought a new digital camera this morning, so expect way too many pictures of Otis, the ocean, random trees and Dusty without a shirt on.

Maguire Face

Beerman just put up this edit of Andy. Currently my favorite thing on the internet for so many reasons, but the last clip cemented it for me. I think I peed my pants a little. Andy is the best.

Green

We have been green here at the Canyon for quite a while and we have no intention of changing.

Someone spent a little too much time

on craigslist today. Whoops. Anyone wanna buy me this for my birthday? It's as old as I am.

Today was a Good Day

You won't catch me in Nike's but this ain't half bad. I think I'll probably cruise a bike after work because this.

Michael Mondays Returns!

Couldn't wait until Monday to put this one up, so here goes. A bunch of clips from the last few weeks.

Sunday

The Liquor bikes site is great and Jason Sunday is one reason on his own. Gettin rad on and off the bike. Slip and slide of death.

Canyon News

I haven't been out the canyon for a long time (since Mike got hurt and the line wasn't working all that well) but I heard that someone cut the cable. Breaking stuff at the trails is lame, so show some respect, but I guess now that they are opened up, ride as much as you want (I meant to unlock em anyway). With that being said, remember that they do construction up there all week, and the idea is to keep the trails as low profile as possible until they finish the houses, so that they don't get plowed. Park far away and ride in. Common sense shouldn't be so hard to come by.

Finding a way

There is a really cool interview/post about the indoor dirt room at Rays MTB park on the Deluxe site. Also, Rick Crossman's site has a ton of great posts since he got back from the Gypsy Caravan Tour. Oh, and in the same awesome Deluxe post/amazing photos vein, check out this picture of a dirt rollercoaster that ran on Deluxe a couple days ago.

The Blue Fowlcan

Ryan Fowler is living it up down in Texas, and after a long peg-hiatus appears to have trick sticks back on his bicycle. Shredding non-stop in Bastrop. Hope to see this guy soon!

Phone Thugs in Harmony

a dump of all the photos on my phone recentlyLook closely in the background to see the result of some idiot plowing in to a fire hydrant. Not the first time something like this has been on the canyon.

Out on the Weekend

Rad?

I think I just hurt my neck shaking my head at this video...not in a good way. Via SJBMX via ITG. In the Gnar also put up this picture recently. Quetion of the week: Would Derby be more fun to ride like this?

Photo Tuesdsay...On wednesday

This was one of the craziest things I have seen in person. Half the time it looked like he was just taking his foot off cause he messed up, but he always put it back on before landing. The Nasa POD site never dissapoints.Berms keep this crazy world of ours turning. Even little ones.Still the coolest setup around. Seen on FBM a while back. What about Bobsuper stylish, I know.
