How metal is Otis? So metal he ate metal. The little hesh was trying to become Wolverine or something. This was a couple weeks ago and he seems fine now.Apparently Derek Adams read this post and got really enthused. Will you tailwhip into this Teenage Mutant Ninja Kurtle? Totally lifted from life?. Sweet pancake and some sage words.

El Chorro

This came out a while back but I just recommended it to someone. What a wild place. My pretty substantial fear of heights would probably keep me outta that place, but it looks amazing.

Saturday!

Hope you are in Morgan Hill, but if you are not you should be at the bikepark helping out, and if you are not, you certainly shouldn't be watching this amazing bicycle union trails video. At least go ride bikes. Don't worry the canyon won't turn into a fatherly advice site. At least not yet. Mow the lawn.

Tragedy

I a really tired from staying up all night listening to Thriller, watching Charlie's Angels and crying, but I had to put up this picture of the new Duo tires in brown sidewalls, can't wait to pick up a pair, as I hear they come with a lock of Chris Doyle's hair or something which makes you able to three anything.Creepy.R.I.P. Also, 2 more items I would love to bring to your attention this fine morn. New lightsinthewoods video. I used to/still have dreams about riding trails that I have never been to, places my mind just came up with. It has always been my dream that someday I will just roll up and find some of those trails (or build them). Barend trails in England might be one of those places. I'm gonna try to track down the helmet cam footage that was on Deluxe a while ago.

JORDACHE!!

Jordache Murdock ordered a new custom frame from FBM (which has a nice post up today) and it is now being shipped pony express to Chunky headquarters in California. Jordan has always wanted a custom frame and got all the things he wanted: 74.5 degree headtube, 23.2 inch toptupe, braze on water bottle mounts for the downtube so he can keep a can of hairspray with him all the time, 10 inch bottom bracket height, and a pressurized flight suit for high flying missions. FBM leaked this picture of his bike on the website a few days ago.Feel the power of Jordache! And axelrad has some brash new updates full of bile and salt with sugar on the rim.

ummmm.....

I guess..."The BMX movie?"
The ride site added this about the project: "Some of the guys already on board are: Scotty Cranmer, Van Homan, Garrett Byrnes, Fuzzy Hall, Matt Beringer, Garrett Reynolds, Chris Doyle, Morgan Wade, Joe Rich and Joel Moody – as well as a host of Catty and Posh locals.

Jack Black won’t be in this film (well, not at this point…but we may still get him). Nevertheless, we have the next best character in the world – Steve Crandal. That’s right. He’ll be livin’ large on the big screen in a role fitting for JB, and we all can’t wait to see that! Also, Kevin Robinson has expressed interest in playing a sweet meathead role."
Moderately related video, but by no means a preview.

Puking in the Berm

POW dudes have been filming for a video for what seems like a decade, but you know that trails footage doesn't have an expiration date and the video should be Apemazing. I think I have already posted the "Welcome to Jefferson State" trailer twice but here it is again, cause it is just that good.

Marcus should have a premiere date soon, so someone start saving gas money. Also, the videos may be available through some mail order companies, so you can get your hands on one even if you don't live close to "the middle of nowhere" northern california. Stay Gold Pony Boy.

Fireworks/Boardwalk

If you missed the fireworks on Saturday night you are an idiot, or you may have been out of town. Mike has a broken ankle and even he saw them! For your convenience I have included the Boardwalk's Summer Nights Event Calendar so you won't blow it and say "I missed Eddie Money?"

After the 2000 X games in SF, about 150 bmxer's tackled the streets (back when First Rule was shitting pampers...only kidding First Rule, love you guys). It was a blast (with the exception of Mike Kranich falling off the China banks bridge), but the absolute hightlight was seeing Todd Lyons get hit by a Taxi, flip up over the hood and get away unscathed. Although the same could not be said about his Huffy.

You should be at the Park...

It's Saturday and if you live in Santa Cruz County and ride bikes you should be at the new bike park helping out. Rode trails yesterday and had a damn good, if tiring, time. Great to see Dusty go through the line top to bottom even if he had to take it easy a little bit. One of the biggest apes in Santa Cruz is almost back at it. In other news the French know how to do more than kiss as evidenced by the video below.

This Dude Looks Like that Dude! Part 5

If there was a Lords of DogTown style movie made about the modern day New Jersey BMX shredders I am pretty sure Geoff Slattery would be played by Josh Hartnett.
(I remember reading a interview in Thrasher with Don Nguyen about skating in Lords of Dogtown and making like 200 bucks every time they bailed. If Jordan got paid for bails he would have made some good money recently.) Geoff Hartnett had a pretty heavy web video that dropped this week for Orchid, check it out below if you haven't seen it already. I wonder who would play Van Homan and Garrett Byrnes?

Ask Alice

Nick over at the IntheGnar put together a cool feature today with a bunch of photographs that work as links back to the sites he found them on (the canyon even made the cut). I encourage you to scout them all out and see what rabbit hole they take you down but I highly encourage the pawoods one as it took me toBrian Barnhart's photography site. Another must is the Jared Souney Photography site where this almost unbelieveable picture of Dean Dickinson carving a pool is from. Raise your hand if you think Jared Souney should start his own magazine...send in a dollar if you actually raised your hand stupid.

Michael Monday #1

Mike has had a good deal of down time with his recent injury and instead of just gong stir crazy he has jumped into some filming and editing projects. He has a few edits finished and a few in the works, so we figured we would start a new segment in the effort to fill out the Sasquatch Canyon Calendar. Welcome to Michael Mondays...except today is a Wednesday....Whoops. Well, W is kind of like an upside down M anyway. So enjoy this edit filmed at the graveyard and check back next Monday for the next installment.

HOLESHOT!

Nick from Holeshot just sent Otis the new issue of HOLESHOT (#5). Otis said the t-shirt was too big for him so he is giving it to me (stoked!) and he even let me look at the zine briefly. Funny ads, a Trievel interview, a TBVO article about cannabis, and tons of other great content make this the best issue yet! Give Otis a biscuit and he might let you look over it or go straight to the source and order some stuff! Money well spent.

I Wanna Party With That Dude Part 10

Well, IWPWTD are showing up later and later in the week although I will try to hit a Friday mark sometime soon. This week is actually more of a "We all did Party with That Dude" anyway. Mark Potozny, his brother Mike and Ryan Wert were just in town and Party we did. Lowlights included smelling like seal shit all night, Carp being hit by a car, a Penguins loss, and lame parties. Highlights included a couple days at the trails, a couple games of darts, some beverages, a renewed appreciation for the amazing place where we all reside by the seaside, some partying with baby sea lions, Carp surviving being hit by a car at 30 mph (someone send me pictures of his destroyed bike!) and more beverages. Santa Cruz will miss you guys. If you see them somewhere along the road say hi and give them a place to stay. DENIED..

If you look up Warriors of Wood in Youtube, this is the first thing that comes up.This, however, is quickly becoming the most popular clip on the internet, as it should be. SHIN CASE!!!Chris San Augustin recently got married! Congratulations Chris!! When is the party? Here is his Vimby edit. Even if you only come out for an hour then all summer you can tell out of towners "I built this park, kick rocks!" You don't want to pass up that opportunity.

This Dude Looks Like that Dude! Part 4

Since I started TDLLTD I have received multiple requests for an Andy Maguire piece, which makes sense; Andy is everyone's favorite barspinning, word-slurring stud muffin. But who does he really look like? I got a Paul Rudd suggestion.
Not bad. And then there was Zach Braff. I can see it. But still there was something missing, so I enlisted some powerful online tools to search out his real double. Show me the MONEY!!!

MyHeritage: Family tree - Genealogy - Celebrity Click here to make you own mash-ups and collages. Totally worth the 5 minutes it takes to figure out, and the months of spam you will probably get for giving them your email address. Andy and I had to settle a debt the other day and we made this video of our phone conversation. Good times.

Graveyard Sessions

We had more fun at the "graveyard" than a couple of necrophiliacs with shovels. Andy laid down the hammers but you will have to wait until Mike Jonze drops the edit to see those as they involved lots of hopping and spinnin and such.

Crash

Saw this on prettyshady. Skip to 1:45 to see the real action.I had a little crash yesterday that reminded me of this, although I only went 6 and not 75 feet too far with the nose down. And this dude isn't bad at bikes

Mon(dane)day

After such a great weekend, Monday just doesn't quite cut the mustard. Warriors of Wood was quite the spectacle and from what I saw/heard/experienced everyone had a great time. My duty as the only non-celebrity judge went pretty well, although that job is harder than I ever imagined. After riding the course on Friday (i haven't been that scared on my bike for a looong time) I was amazed to see people do pretty much everything you would see in a major Dirt Contest. A big thumbs up to Mat and Travis who built an awesome (albeit terrifying course). I'll skip any kind of recap, as you can get a more detailed version on SJBMX or the Ride site. Sunday saw a huge turnout at some local trails for a "low key bbq". Some new lines got opened up and some legendary trains (Think Heath Pinter, Joey Garcia) came chugging on through. Always good to ride with Chris Reisner as well! The locals would probably like to remind everyone that yesterday was a one time event and anyone interested in getting out there needs to go through the proper channels (read: call a local, and bring your shovel and beers). Also:Skier Jay has a new design/photography site that is pretty fun to look at. I was always a Merit Compatibles fan and this is more of the same clean artful stuff.
